The (mild) insomnia returned last night.
So, there I am, herb tea at my side, spinning away, iPod plugged in to my ears. Now, there had been a fair old wind during the evening, rattling away at the windows. Another gust, thinks I. Oh - sufficient to really rattle the doors and windows......
And my chair????????
By now, I'm freaking. Is it the wind (surely not). A military plane? My over-active imagination?
An earthquake?!?
Yup.

It woke us up - everything in the house rattled like mad, including the bed! I knew it was an earthquake straight away, even though I don't ever remember experiencing one before. Spooky!
Bwahahaahahahahaha!
me. laughing :)
(Glad no one was hurt, and what *is* the world coming to?)

Wasn't the noise weird, that low rumble that builds as everything inside and outside joins in? We were still up, I was sitting knitting on the sofa and I'll swear the sofa was moving by about 2 inches. Not being used to earthquakes, I thought at first it was the central heating boiler setting the water pipes vibrating.
I saw the item in the news and was wondering if you felt it. Glad you weren't hurt. I hope nothing precious fell off the shelves. Did DSM sleep through it? --Syl
