I keep trying to get a blog post done. Obviously, I fail. Can I blame it on this wonderful November weather? (Told you May was summer, eh?)
Basically, there has just been too much socialising going on. Well, the odd blip-day of not feeling so good, but that's better than it was - unfortunately, I had one of me funny turns on Friday when I was supposed to be going on a knitter's narrow boat outing. They had a great time without me, but did nearly drown on the way back; the heavens opened, not a capsize!
Saturday, I was better, the weather was better-ish, and it was the Hebden Bridge Handmade Parade as well as World Wide Knit In Public Day. So four knitters and two non-knitting spouses had a lovely time outside one of the local pubs. I did take photos, but the DSM uploaded them in to the wrong file, so I have to wrangle them in to Photoshop before I can post any of them - cropping, etc, yer know.
Before all that, various visitors, and then yesterday Bear Knitters. And along with all of this, there is work to be done! We leave for Cumbria on Saturday for two weeks of relaxation, kind of, and Woolfest in the middle. Not that I am complaining about that. I love Woolfest, and might have to miss it next year (for something better, but too soon to say as yet.) We have to sort out all the stuff we need, and get it ready by Thursday as it is AH on Friday. So there is that to prepare - a dyeing day - as well.
Quite a bit to do still for SS, but I can get on with that in Cockermouth As It Is Going To Rain. I have cast on a simple shawlette with the pretty bluey-green spindle spun yarn - so nice and soft!! - thre times already, but I think I am nearly on top of the first section now. It doesn't matter if it is a work in progress, but it would be nice to get it done and have another FO. It is possible. I shall only take socks apart form that - and spindles, of course.
And this is a holiday??
This week, I have another hospital appointment, which shouldn't be too much of a hassle; and a regular dentist appointment, which may or may not be.
Oh - and I have finished spinning and am in the middle of plying the silk that will make the crochet border for the cormo shawl; and have the green silk to ply for the little bag - although that could also be a work in progress.
By golly, no wonder I feel a bit steam-rollered sometimes! But it is all good fun for the kiddies, I suppose.........
When we get back from Cumbria, we have a half day workshop in our own back yard, in other words, up at Gibson Mill; Knit Nation - that will be fun as well as hard work; the AH Retreat (non-working for us) weekend; and then Summer School. Blog posts might continue to be a bit thin on the ground, but I will do my best.
